Add notes to your watchface with WatchNotes for Apple Watch

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that we look at our Apple Watches far more often than our iPhones. It’s also true that, due to inherent differences between iOS and watchOS, users can more easily pin text onto their Apple Watch’s display using software available directly from the App Store. One such app that makes this possible is WatchNotes, a $0.99 piece of software that you can download right now.

Much like Complicate It (which we told you about a few days ago), WatchNotes works by means of a complication that users can enable on their chosen watchface. You can display a short text-based note using either the WatchNote iPhone app or dictation on the Apple Watch itself; you can also schedule multiple notes to appear at certain points throughout the week. Usefully, users can Time Travel through their upcoming notes, too, in order to check what’s on the horizon.

There are tons of use cases for an app like this: passcodes for the office, the names of clients, and more general reminders are some of the suggestions my pal Sandy told readers about in her article. I’d definitely use WatchNotes for daily reminders (the stuff you’d otherwise find it easy to forget about).

In fact, an app like WatchNotes offers users a solution not too dissimilar to how I’m currently using the Calendar application on the Modular watchface. Pinning events to the Modular watchface using the Calendar complication allows me to subtly remind myself of important tasks and appointments, and this setup has made me less of a forgetful person. The benefit to using the Calendar complication, mind you, is that you can schedule events to appear every day, week, or month. You can also input the location of events, too, and this appears on a second line in italicized font.

But for more simple one-time notes, however, WatchNotes is a great solution that’s easy to configure and is a pleasure to use. It’s definitely worth the download: you can grab it now for the limited-time price of $0.99.
