Griffin Debuts Portable Keychain Charger for your Apple Watch
You can never have enough battery, even on your Apple Watch. And if you’re someone who has trouble getting through Apple’s claimed “all day” battery, Griffin’s latest accessory is designed to help you with that. It’s called the “Travel Power Bank” and it’s basically a little keychain with an inductive charging puck made to fit onto your Apple Watch. It has a simple, square design that I wouldn’t call beautiful, but it’s small enough to throw on your keychain for the times when you need it. Griffin says it has a 800mAh battery, good for up to four charges on the Apple Watch.
Of course, the keychain itself needs to be charged using a micro USB cord, so its not like you’re completely free of wires. Still, if you’re someone who’s going on a short trip and would rather not carry the long wire Apple provides for you, this is not a bad solution.
The Travel Power Bank will retail for $69.99 and will be available for sale in the second quarter of 2016, just in time for the rumored Apple Watch 2 announcement. You may want to hold off in case you plan on purchasing a new Apple Watch, although we think it’ll fit it just fine.
