Pick Up Simple App WatchNotes While It's Free

WatchNotes by Newkline Co., Ltd. is free for a limited time. Not to be confused with the more popular WatchNotes by Michael Bischof, this WatchNotes has a nice little app on the Apple Watch but no complication.

There is a glance, and in watchOS 3 you will be able to put it in your dock. Upon opening the app, you’ll see a microphone and two buttons: Notes and ToDos. Tap whichever you wish to record, tap the microphone, and start talking. I found the dictation feature to work flawlessly. This is really two apps in one; a note recording app and a to-do list app. Anytime you tap the Notes button, you’ll get a list of your notes. Tap a note and you’ll have the option to delete it. Tap the ToDos button for a list of your to-dos, with boxes. Tap the box to add a check mark indicating completion. The check marked to-do doesn’t go away, it stays in place with a line through it until you go to the iPhone app to delete it. If you tap it again, the check mark goes away.

WatchNotes

Speaking of the iPhone app, there are more features there than on the watch. It’s a fully functional iPhone app. Everything you do on your Apple Watch will be automatically synced on your iPhone and vice versa. On your phone, you’ll have the ability to edit, delete, and send your notes and to-dos.

WatchNotes comes in handy for those moments that you need to make a quick memo to yourself or add something to your to do list. It’s a solid, snappy app that works as claimed. The user interface is pleasant and uncluttered. Until the developer adds a complication, I’m not sure it’s worth the regular price of $1.99. But at this price, it’s worth a shot. Don’t hesitate, pick up WatchNotes now while it’s free on the App Store.
