Apple Watch Ranked Highest in Customer Satisfaction by J.D. Power

July 12, 2016

J.D. Power today has published its 2016 Smartwatch Device Satisfaction Report and Apple ranked highest amongst smartwatch manufacturers in customer satisfaction. Samsung managed to finish in second place, though it did take first in fitness band category.

The report measured satisfaction from over 2,600 customers who purchased a smartwatch within the past year. They measured factors listed in order of importance including: easy for use, comfort, battery, price, display size, styling, reliability, Apps, and customer service.

The Apple Watch earned a satisfaction rating of 852 out of 1000, and a five out of five “Power Circle” rating, compared to Samsung which received an 842 and a two out of five “Power Circle” rating. Sony, Fitbit, and LG rounded off the top five with scores of 840, 839, and 827 respectively.

Given that the Apple Watch is a “flop”, this is wonderful news. I suspect watchOS 3 as well as the second generation Apple Watch will make people like this product even more. We’re only about 6 weeks away from what likely is to be the unveiling of the Apple Watch 2. Let’s see what Apple can do to improve its satisfaction rate.
