Duccio di Buoninsegna (c. 1255-1260 ñ c. 1318-1319) was born in the city of Siena, Tuscany in Central Italy. Much about his early life and family is uncertain; but we do have records that say he was married with seven children. Although there is a lot still unconfirmed about Duccio di Buoninsegna and his life, documentation of him is much more prevalent than compared to other Italian painters of his time and earlier.
