One in five college women are sexually assaulted before they graduate from college. One in twenty men are as well.
CrowdMe aims to help prevent sexual harassment and assault by facilitating a call for help. When in an uncomfortable situation (of any type - not just fearing sexual assault), simply tap the button, and all other same-gendered users nearby with the app will receive your location to help you leave the situation.
Additionally, every time the button is tapped, the app will record the time and location you initiated the call for assistance and possibly revoked consent. The data will auto-delete in about 72 hours, but users also have the option to retain the data for later use. CrowdMe recognizes that consent is fluid and can be revoked at anytime, so we aim to help users keep track of these moments.
