Boost

Boost- Sleep for Performance is a cutting-edge app designed to make elite athletes more effective and efficient, both on and off the field. By analyzing their sleep data, health habits, and specific training modalities, you will be able to determine what changes need to be made in your athlete’s preparation and fitness.

Why sleep matters

There’s nothing like a good night’s sleep to help you feel alive, awake, and ready to tackle the day. But did you know that the quality of your athletes’ sleep can propel them to peak levels of performance, making them and your entire team unstoppable? See, there is a lot of talk about the importance of nutrition and exercise as the two main pillars of health. The pillar that is often neglected however, is sleep.

Sleep- The Third Pillar of Athletic Health

Your athletes’ health habits play a vital role in how they perform and ultimately, win. Certainly what they eat is critical to their success, as is how, when, and to the extent to which they train. Sleep however, is what allows them to perform at their best, stay focused, and maintain a manageable training load.

Boost is based on strong scientific data that provides customized physiological insights. Our intuitively designed algorithm analyzes heart rate, stress, caffeine consumption, perceived exertion, and of course, sleep. By integrating these athlete- specific, individualized details, coaches are better informed about what works best for each player. Boost offers the most comprehensive results based on this distinctive data and in turn, gives your athletes a competitive edge.

Injury Prevention

In order to maximize your athletes’ potential to win, as well as be part of a winning team, it’s important to understand sleep’s role in injury prevention and recovery. The goal of course, is to prevent injury, but they do occasionally occur.

A solid night’s sleep that includes adequate REM and deep sleep, makes it significantly easier for players to avoid injury. When athletes get the sleep they need, their focus improves and they are able to keep their eye on the ball! In fact, reaction times can improve in just 24 hours. In a study in 2000 in Australia, researchers found that reaction time increased by 4.3% after athlete’\s had a good night’s sleep; their sleep decreased by 2.4% after one night of sleep deprivation.

Being more focused helps athletes with their accuracy. That said, the better their quality of sleep, the less likely they are to twist an ankle, pop a knee, or rip a muscle. By extension, more sleep means more play time, which means more wins for everybody.

Injury Recovery

When injuries do occur, sleep is there to the rescue! See, while your athletes’ more obvious work is done during waking hours, their bodies work just as hard when they’re asleep. When your athletes are catching their much needed Z’s, hormones stimulate muscle repair, cell regeneration, and bone recovery. And, because they use far more energy when they’re awake, the surplus not used when they’re asleep provides restoration and healing. And as if that wasn’t enough, one of the hormones released when they are asleep (prolactin), contains anti-inflammatory components that provide additional recuperative effects.

The Boost- Sleep for Performance app will reconnect your athletes with their bodies and the incredible things they are capable of. Boost helps them pinpoint the areas that need improvement and rediscover their athletic purpose, all so they can get out there and pursue their dreams.
