Jim Casey Initiative Fall Convening 2016
Jim Casey Initiative Fall Convening 2016
The mission of the Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative is to ensure that young people—primarily those between ages 14 and 25—transitioning from foster care have the relationships, resources and opportunities to ensure well-being and success. We do this by working with 17 states and nationally to improve policies and practices. Our work creates opportunities for young people to achieve positive outcomes in permanence, education, employment, housing, health, financial capability, and social capital. Our aim is to ensure holistic well-being for young people informed by principles of race equity and inclusion. The National Fall Convening brings together teams from each of the 17 sites to learn about new research, tools, and practice models from the field and to strategize and problem solve shared challenges.
