Apple Details Apple Watch Accessibility Features
Apple has detailed the Apple Watch’s accessibility features for the vision and hearing impaired on its website. The four assisted technologies include: VoiceOver, Taptic Engine, font adjustment, and mono audio. The features can be accessed directly through Apple Watch itself or through the Settings app on a paired iPhone.
According to Apple “VoiceOver is a gesture-based screen reader that uses the speaker on Apple Watch. It tells you everything that’s happening on the screen and helps you navigate it — even if you can’t see it.” It also supports the available 14 languages.
Apple also outlines six other technologies for those who are visually impaired. These include: zoom, grayscale, extra large watch face, reduce transparency, on/off labels, and reduce motion.
