MyCell Selling Replica Apple Watch Bands For Half Price

While there’s no way to really know, it appears that MyCell – a third-party seller on Amazon – is selling replica Apple Watch bands for about half the price of their “inspirations.” The bands, which are fraudulently represented by images taken directly off Apple’s website, are being offered for as low as $24.49 for the “Sport Band” and as high as $224.49 for the stainless “Link Bracelet.” The bands are not available until April 30, and they have an estimated delivery date of somewhere between May 5 and May 7.

Could these be exact replicas? Certainly not. But could they be close enough to convince many people to buy them instead of Apple’s official Bands? That’s a possibility, especially given how good Asian manufacturers have gotten at replicating high-end luxury items. This is exactly why I feel like Apple has to put some sort of lock on Bands. Otherwise, we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of this in the coming months.
