Christy Turlington Shares More Apple Watch Details While On Vacation

March 26, 2015

While on vacation in Caribbean, Christy Turlington has revealed a few tidbits about Apple Watch’s ability to learn your strides as you run, suggesting that you won’t need your iPhone to get an accurate workout summary:

…I switched up my runs between the treadmill at the hotel gym and outside. After you run with Apple Watch and your iPhone a few times, the Workout app knows more about your stride. So you can run on a treadmill or outside without your phone and still get a really accurate workout summary.

While this seems like an untraditional way for Apple to leak device information, Turlington’s post, titled “The Art of Vacation Training”, also serves as a fashion ad for the company, showing the model swapping Apple Watch Bands to fit more with the “look” of the Caribbean (enter joke about Apple Watch’s lack of waterproofing here). Again, this is Apple emphasizing one of the hallmark features of Apple Watch – the ability to take on different personalities via colorful Bands and Faces.
