Christy Turlington Shares Apple Watch Thoughts
There are a couple of statements from Turlington that really caught my attention. First, she says when “you move with [Apple Watch], everybody is like ‘What is that? Where’d you get that?'” That, to me, shows how interesting this product will be to folks seeing it for the first time. Remember, we’re eight years into the slab-of-glass multi-touch era. The iPhone is hugely popular, but it’s old news. Apple Watch is new news. It is truly different, especially because you don’t just carry it, you wear it. And besides that, it takes on a demonstrably unique personality — your personality — through its customizable notifications, Faces, and Bands.
Turlington also says that she’s a very “low tech person, but found it to be very useful.” This type of user is basically Apple Watch’s main demographic in a nutshell. Sure, many of us reading about Apple Watch on a daily basis tend to be tech nerds, but the truth is that most of Apple’s customers aren’t. Apple couldn’t have sold over a billion iOS devices if they were.
