Apple Releases Officially Battery Life Numbers For Apple Watch

March 9, 2015

Apple has released officially battery life info on Apple Watch, graded depending on use. According to Apple, the wearable is built for “all day” and can last up to 18 hours as it performs various expected daily tasks.

Apple Watch is so capable you’ll want to wear it all day long. So we made sure we gave it a battery that lasts all day, too. Our goal for battery life was 18 hours after an overnight charge, factoring in things like checking the time, receiving notifications, using apps, and doing a 30-minute workout. And because everyone will use Apple Watch differently, we tested several other metrics as well.

Apple also says that Apple Watch will give you three hours of talk time, 6.5 hours of audio playback, and up to 72 hours of Power Reserve. Apple Watch will also take about 1.5 hours to charge to 80% and 2.5 hours to charge 100%. Seems totally reasonable to me. If the critics want to keep bashing Apple Watch, it looks like they’ll need to latch onto a different “problem” from here on out.
