Flashcards+ by Chegg a Must-Have App for Students
Flashcards+ by Chegg is an app that every student who owns an Apple Watch will want to check out for help studying and memorizing material. Flashcards can be an effective way to study, since they engage your active recall and build repetition-based confidence. This app free and easy to use on your iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad. All of your material is synced across your devices. You can create your own flashcards from scratch or download flashcard decks created by others. The app supports 22 languages. You are not limited to text-only, you can place images in your flashcard decks as well.
You’ll need to open the app on your iPhone first. There you’ll create your free account, take a quick tutorial, and create or download your flashcards. You don’t need an Apple Watch to use this app fully on your iPhone. But if you do have an Apple Watch, it’s a bonus.
There is not a complication for Flashcards+ by Chegg, but you can place the app in your Dock. When you first open the app on your Apple Watch, you have two options: Hints or Last Deck. You can use it two ways. You can tap Last Deck to study your flashcards on your wrist, when you have a quick minute and your iPhone’s not handy. Or, you can tap Hints to use the Apple Watch app in concert with the iPhone app.
I did find the app to be a little sluggish upon opening on my first generation Apple Watch, even though I’m running the current watchOS. Once it gets going, it’s snappy between cards. Hopefully, it starts up a bit faster on the Series 1 and 2.
Flashcards+ by Chegg is certainly worth checking out if you need to memorize material for a course or an upcoming test. It’s free on the App Store.
