Weight Watchers Offers a Deal on an Apple Watch 2

January 28, 2017

Weight Watchers has introduced a special program for new OnlinePlus members with a discount on an Apple Watch 2. You do have to commit to 13 months on the program to get the discount.

The Apple Watch 2 being offered though Weight Watchers is only Aluminum, only the 38mm size, and only a Woven Nylon or Sport Band. With this special OnlinePlus program, you pay $99.95 for the first month and then $8.07 per week or $34.95 per month for a total of 13 months. If you cancel within the first month, you’ll have to pay a $304 cancellation fee to cover the cost of the Apple Watch 2, no returns. If you cancel later within the year, the cancellation fee will be pro-rated (but not in your favor.)

The OnlinePlus program without the Apple Watch is $39.90 for the first three months and then $3.07 per week or $19.95 per month after that. If you already have an Apple Watch, you can use the Weight Watchers app on your iPhone and Apple Watch on this program. I am not a Weight Watchers member, but if you are, the app does seem like a nice way to incorporate their fitness and healthy eating plan into your life.

This program does not represent any kind of sponsorship or partnership with Apple. Weight Watchers is doing this on its own.

Weight Watchers says this is a $125 discount on the Apple Watch 2, but I tried the math and could only come up with about a $50 discount off of the full retail price of $369. If I were to do this, I would ask a customer service representative to walk me though how they came up with that number. Do keep in mind that you’re only getting a discount on the Apple Watch if you’d planned to join Weight Watchers OnlinePlus program anyway, and only if you’re sure you’re going to stick with it for the full 13 months. You can get the details on Weight Watchers’ website. The app is free on the App Store.
