Activity Sharing is a Major New Feature in watchOS 3
The new watchOS 3 promises vastly improved speed and many new features. One of the most highly-requested features is coming to the Apple Watch: Activity Sharing.
It’s fun and motivating to be able to “compete” with your friends and family around the world. This fall, with watchOS 3, comes Activity Sharing. Now you can share your fitness ring-filling addiction with friends.
With the addition of this feature, you will no longer need a third-party app to share fitness information. Not only can you and your friends see each other’s daily progress with a quick look at your wrist, but you can communicate with each other within the Activity app. You can send your friends encouraging messages, or of course, trash talk.
This could be a game-changer for the Apple Watch. I think that the one thing besides price that keeps many FitBit users from buying an Apple Watch is FitBit’s sharing feature. This fall, with the arrival of watchOS 3, the Apple Watch will have fitness sharing too. Read more in-depth coverage of WWDC 2016 on our sister site, AppAdvice.
