23VIVI Brings Digital Art to Apple Watch Faces
23VIVI is an online digital art marketplace that offers rare and limited edition digital art. Their new project, Bon Ami, is focused on bringing nostalgia to the Apple Watch. In their own words,
Bon Ami is an evolving project that brings digital art to the face of Apple Watches. Bon Ami, meaning “good friends” in French, focuses on digital art that will affect people in a nostalgic way by bringing back cultural friends of the past.
Bon Ami’s first digital art series is called Wristmon. Artist IQ9X took his inspiration from Pokemon, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The artist used a glitch motif to signify the blurred nostalgia of Pokemon’s past. Now you can catch all of these digital monsters right on your Apple Watch. There are 23 digital art pieces for Apple Watch in this collection.
Future Apple Watch series offerings will be forthcoming on a bi-weekly basis. Art Director Ryan Cowdrey is curating the artwork. Artists are given the prompt “nostalgia” and asked to create something for the Apple Watch. Next up is NYC-based artist Peter Vu. I’ll be interested to see his take on nostalgic art for the Apple Watch.
You can download the Apple Watch faces from Bon Ami for free, but if you wish to make a donation, then 75% of the proceeds go to the artist. 23VIVI uses cryptographic certificates of authenticity to protect both the artist and the buyer.
