Track Your Health From Your Apple Watch With Qardio Accessories
I recently reviewed two Qardio products on our sister site, AppAdvice: QardioBase Wi-Fi Smart Scale and QardioArm, a blood pressure monitor. Both devices connect via Bluetooth to your iPhone. To use these devices and monitor these aspects of your health, you use the iPhone app called Qardio Heart Health, Weight, and Blood Pressure Monitor.
Qardio has an Apple Watch app. It’s quite a nifty little app to have if you own either of the Qardio devices. It may be stripped down compared to what you can do on the iPhone, but it’s still worth keeping on your watch.
When you open the app, you get a menu with the options Blood Pressure, Weight, History, and Friends & Family. Tap Blood Pressure and you get a Start button. You can actually take your own blood pressure and pulse without even opening up your phone. For someone who needs to take their blood pressure and/or pulse frequently, this is a nice convenience. Just put on the QardioArm cuff, press that Start button on your wrist, and relax. Tap Weight your current weight, at least, the last time you weighed yourself on the QardioBase scale. Tap History to see a snapshot of your blood pressure and pulse history from the QardioArm. You can use Friends & Family to share data with loved ones.
The app on the iPhone is of course far more robust, with Apple Health integration, the ability to send data to your doctor, and more, as described in the articles I linked in the first sentence. But the casual user who has an Apple Watch can fully use both the QardioArm and QardioBase without ever opening the iPhone app. Certainly if you have Qardio’s app on your Apple Watch you’ll need to use the iPhone app less frequently.
If you have been shopping for a Bluetooth enabled scale and/or sphygmomanometer, and you’d like to be able to use them with your Apple Watch, you might want to consider Qardio’s line of products. The app, Qardio Heart Health, Weight, and Blood Pressure Monitor, is free on the App Store.
