Get A More Detailed Calendar Complication With Events Widget

April 15, 2016

Events Widget is a free app that offers something that many people will like: a more detailed calendar complication. The native calendar complication shows only the very next event, and that’s really not enough for everyone. Events Widget will show your next three upcoming events.

Calendar

This is the native Calendar complication; it shows only the next upcoming event.

The Events Widget in the center complication shows my next three events.

There are a lot of adjustments you can make in the setting portion of the app for true customization. Events Widget is a full iPhone app as well, so you can create a personalized widget for the Today tab of the Notifcation Center. But since this is WatchAware, I’ll focus on the Apple Watch Settings portion of the app.

Here you can decide which of your calendars to show on the watch and how many upcoming events you want listed. Choose whether or not to display all-day events and countdown days. And create your complication: do you want three events shown, or just one? And choose whether you want the events displayed by start time or relative time.

Another neat thing about the app is that you can use Time Travel and see ahead to future event with a twist of the Digital Crown.

Of course the Apple Watch face is limited in size, so you’re just going to get an abbreviated version of each upcoming event. Still, it’s nice to have the option to see your next three calendar entries rather than just one. It’s a nice app to add to your collection, especially for when you have busy days and need to see farther ahead than just the very next event.

Events Widget is free on the App Store.
