Manually Type Reminders On Your Apple Watch With AddReminder
Most of us find that Siri works great for adding reminders with the Apple Watch, but what if you just want to type one out rather than dictating it? After all, dictation only works well if you’re in a relatively quiet and private area. Siri just won’t work in a noisy area, and you don’t want to be shouting your business into your watch if there are a lot of people around. If you don’t have your phone on you, how can you add a reminder? AddReminder – Type Reminders On Your Apple Watch fulfills that need.
Yes, you actually get a full keyboard with this free app. You may not find it very easy to type if you have large fingers, but I found no learning curve; I was able to do so immediately with very few errors. It’s not a QWERTY keyboard, but rather, an alphabetically ordered screen. Tap the up and down arrow to toggle between upper case and lower case letters. Additionally, you can tap the 01 or AB button to toggle between a numbers/symbols or alphabet screen respectively.
Type out your reminder, and then force press. You’ll see the option to Save or Discard. Tap Save. There is a few minutes’ delay, but when you open up the Reminders app on your phone, the reminder you typed on your Apple Watch will be there.
You may seldom have a need for AddReminder, but for those times you do need it, it does work well. At any rate, you can download it for free, so give it a whirl.
