WATCHe Is Really A Custom Watch Face

WATCHe Is Really A Custom Watch Face

February 3, 2016

One of the biggest bummers of the Apple Watch is the lack of truly custom watch faces. Sure, you can customize the dozen or so faces that Apple has given us, by changing the color, the complications, or the background photo. And this is a lot of fun; I’ve spent a lot of time working out my favorite faces. But many of us would like to have the option for completely custom watch faces. Other smartwatches manufacturers have given over watch face control to third-party app developers, resulting in unlimited creativity and any kind of watch face you could imagine. Why not Apple? Despite the fervent wishes of internet denizens everywhere, Apple maintains tight control over the Apple Watch faces.

But WATCHe has managed to slip through Apple’s approval process somehow.

It is purportedly an educational app which teaches users all about the inner workings of a mechanical watch. It is extremely detailed, with over a dozen layers that you can add and remove to your taste. It’s actually kind of neat to play with, turning on and off the various layers and seeing how they work.
