Fitbit Unveils Blaze, Its First Watch With A Color Screen
The wearables market continues to get more competitive as Apple and Fitbit go head to head, competing for the first spot.
Today, however, Fitbit is making an offensive move with what they’re calling the Fitbit Blaze, its first color screen watch with custom clock faces, the ability to take calls and receive notifications.
The Blaze will have various styles of bands including a link bracelet option for $130, or a leather strap for $100. The main unit is an octogon-like block that snaps into a frame that connects to bands and promises to make swapping convenient.
The Blaze is still very much focused on fitness. As an example, the same health-tracking options in Fitbit’s other products are also included in the Blaze, including a heart rate monitor, and sleep tracker. Unfortunately, unlike the Surge Watch, it lacks GPS. Bummer.
The Blaze will also include new features such as a suite of workout videos from personal trainers, and SmartTrack, Fitbit’s automatic exercise-sening software.
The FitBit Blaze will hit sometime in March with a base price of $200.
