Don't Laugh, But This is Sony's E-Paper Watch That Costs $240
Just about a year ago, Sony reveled its FES watch – a watch that uses low-power e-paper technology to power the face as well as the band. Now, a year later, the company is putting the device on sale in Japan.
The FES Watch will go on sale Saturday, November 21st, at the Omotesando MoMA Design Store in Shibuya, Tokyo. Interestingly, it will also be sold at Isetan in Shinjuku staring December 1st, the high-end departments store that offered the Apple Watch at launch.
The watch is still being offered on First Flight, Sony’s crowdfunding store, and will also be available through the Japanese online store for MoMA. Sony has also said that they plan to offer the FES Watch at other stores in the future, but didn’t give any specifics.
How much will it cost you to get this unique timepiece? Roughly $240 or ¥29,700.
