How To Reset Your Forgotten Apple Watch Passcode
Once in a while, everyone has problems remembering pieces of information like passwords and phone numbers, and an Apple Watch’s passcode is also one bit of information that has an excellent chance of being forgotten.
If this has happened to you, and you are left scratching your head and not knowing what to do about it, Apple provides a tutorial on its support website to get out of this sticky situation in just a few steps.
The one thing you should know is that if you no longer remember your password, you cannot recover your data if you have not made a backup in the past. You should regularly backup your Apple Watch to be able to restore your data after you’ve paired with your iPhone.
Good point and good walkthrough. Still, I like to think my solution is a bit more pragmatic and a heck of a lot easier:
Yes, I disabled the passcode on my Apple Watch. And no, I’m not taking a big risk.
You know why? Because I dont take the thing off in public. But also, I keep on the lookout for pickpocketing scumbags, and I decline to hand over any of my belongings to a mugger or a thief. Of course, in some places, effective resistance is pretty much illegal, so those of you in international waters like California, New York, Britain, France, etc. may have an actual valid need for this feature. Just dont use your birthday.
And remember, if you’re wearing an Apple Watch, that potential crook knows you’ve got a newish iPhone, too. And probably a wallet full of money.
Long sleeves, folks.
