Here Are Some Great Complications For Your Apple Watch

September 22, 2015

After just five months watchOS 2, Apple’s biggest update to the Apple Watch has arrived. With this update, Apple is bringing a slew of much needed and highly anticipated features.

One of the features many of us have been waiting for is the ability to add third-party complications to our Watch face. For those of you who may not know, complications are the little bits of information we get in the corners of various Watch faces. Apple initially included ones like battery life, weather, activity goals, even moon phases. But now, the Apple Watch has the capability of displaying complications from any third-party app that builds it according to Apple’s specifications. The result is a Watch face can display information that is far more relevant, depending on what apps you use. Here are a few that we really like.

Watch Complications

Streaks

If your’e someone who likes to keep track of completed tasks at home, work, or school,  Streaks ($3.99) is a great way to keep things in check. With the Streaks complication, every time you complete a task, you can simply tap the complication and then mark off what you’ve done. It makes for a far better experience than having the open the app.

Streaks ComplicationCarrot Weather

Not a fan of the built-in weather app? Carrot Weather ($3.99) provides weather information in a funny and sarcastic way. Its complication shows you the current conditions and upcoming changes. Plus, you can use Time Travel to see the weather in the future!

Carrot Weather ComplicationETA

ETA is a pretty awesome app for anyone who travels a bunch. The complication will show you how long a commute will take, that way you don’t have to open Maps and calculate it yourself. The best part is that once again, you can use the Time Travel feature and get info up to six hours in the future.

ETA complicationsLifeSum

LifeSum is a really great health tracking app that helps guild you in the right direction. The app tells you when you need to eat, drink, or exercise and constantly shows you your progress for the day. What’s great is that it also ties in with the Health app so that there’s even more information on how your’e living day to day. Pretty awesome.

App in the Air (free) will help you with flight status information in real-time. It will also give you airport tips, and provide in-airport navigation maps. The complication lets you quickly check your flight status, which means you’ll never have an excuse to missing your flight, right?

Sleep++

Like to sleep? Who doesn’t? Sleep++ takes advantage of the motion tracking capabilities of your Apple Watch to closely measure both the duration and quality of your sleep. It has a built-in complication that shows you how long you’ve gotten good sleep. While you may not need this during the day, it’s helpful to have when you wake up and have to stop the app. Plus, it integrates with the Health app so now you’ll be able to see what your sleeping patterns are like!

Of course, we plan to cover a whole lot more, so stay tuned as we continue to review and post more apps, and third-party complications. Oh, and if theres’s something you like, let us know. We’re always on the hunt for great apps!
