Apple Sells Over 1 Million Apple Watches in China

Apple is believed to have sold over 1 million Apple Watches in China, according to data analysis company TalkingData. The company uses a platform that monitors over 80,000 mobile apps, including the countries most popular app WeChat, known to have over 1 billion (with a B) registered users.

Given the type of people likely to be early adopters, and given the growth of WeChat over the past several years, it would make sense that TalkingData would have pretty accurate data, especially since WeChat has an Apple Watch app which we’ve seen demo’d more than once at Apple Keynotes.

While we still don’t know how many Apple Watches Apple has sold, Tim Cook has hinted that sales have exceeded expectations at the company.

We’ll just have to wait and see if they’re true.
