Apple Pay on the Apple Watch could eventually reach 95% Adoption
A new survey of Apple Watch owners conducted by research firm Wristly found that 80% of those in the U.S. and UK have already used Apple Pay on their Watch. The firm also believes that that number may eventually hit 95%.
According to Wristly, only 19% of Watch owners have yet to try Apple Pay on the Watch and roughly only a quarter of them said they had concerns or saw no benefits.
Another interesting discovery was that Apple Watch owners are much more likely to use Apple Pay than current iPhone owners. At least so far.
By comparison [with the 80% of Apple Watch owners], the various surveys published in 2015 in the US assess Apple Pay usage level on iPhone 6 at around 15% to 20%.
It also appears that that Apple Watch owners prefer using their Watch instead of their iPhone when it came to using Apple Pay. I can personally attest to this as it removes the one step of having to fish my iPhone out of my pocket.
Last but certainly not least, a whopping 96% of Apple Watch owners said they want to use Apple Pay at more locations. In fact, 62% of them said they visit supporting Apple Pay locations more often than one’s without Apple Pay.
We’re less than a year into Apple Pay and just a few months in with Apple Watch. The next few years of payments is going to be very interesting.
