Speaking Of International Trademarks...

It’s really hard to be mad at China’s brazen knock-off commercial culture. In fact, I find it almost infinitely amusing. Check out these renders of Chinese OEM Ulefone’s new smartwatch, dubbed the uWear:

All in all, I’d say the uWear is pretty lovely. In fact, I think it looks quite a lot like what I expect out of future iterations of Apple Watch (minus that apparently moveable/breakable flap on the edge): It’s thinner and drops the useless, finicky moving parts of the fashionable but impractical Digital Crown. One version also features a gold anodized aluminum case, which is something Apple Watch is bound to embrace in the nearest of near terms.

Of course, dont expect the uWear to do much of what Apple Watch does, as its technical capabilities simply won’t be on par. It’s so much thinner because there’s so much less inside. That heart rate sensor? It won’t be accurate like Apple’s. Those side buttons? They likely won’t have touch-scroll capabilities. The thing may not even have a gyroscope or accelerometer. In fact, the only features Ulefone has seemingly confirmed to be on-board are pedometer and sleep monitor functions. And the device is probably going to run stock Android Wear, considering the source of this news is Androidheadlines.com.

And just in case you were wondering, here’s Ulefone’s flagship handset the company hopes to pair with their new smartwatch:
