Developer Shows Siri Controlled Tesla Model S
A few weeks ago, developer Allen Wong showed us a preview of his custom-built Apple Watch Tesla app that allowed him to control a various functions of his Tesla Model S. Now, Wong is back with some updates including the ability to control his Tesla using the “Hey Siri” voice command.
The video shows Wong using his voice to turn on his HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning), as well as unlock and even start this Model S. In each scenario the Watch is able to hear Wong and then follow the command perfectly. The caveat, however, is that because Apple Watch apps currently rely on the iPhone, you can see the delay between the time the “Hey Siri” command is initiated and the time it is executed on the Model S itself. Still, it’s still pretty impressive to see this sort of function and we imagine this will be much faster once Wong is able to build the app natively on the Watch.
Wong also states that he’s waiting for Tesla to implement the “summon car” feature so that he can code the app and allow you to “speak into your Apple Watch to make your Tesla drive up to you.”
Isn’t the future amazing?
