Forget Alarms, Apple Watch Can Find Your iPhone In A Flash

May 4, 2015

Everyone knows that Apple Watch has a built-in accessibility feature that lets you ping your misplaced iPhone. Just pull up your Glances, swipe over to Settings, and tap the big button on the bottom of the screen:

This makes your lost handset emit a loud alarm, which you can then track using your old-fashioned analog ears. Of course, sometimes the environment is bound to be dark, rendering that iPhone extra hidden. For times like these, you can actually hold down on the above toggle to activate your iPhone’s camera flash. Bear in mind, this is a long press, not a Force Touch gesture.

Of course, this only activates the flash on the rear of your iPhone, and that’s bound to be less useful if the thing’s lying on its back. Perhaps future revisions of the function will also force the screen to flash white. But until then, please try to only lose your iPhone in a face-down orientation.
