Cufflink Browser For Apple Watch

Cufflink Browser For Apple Watch

April 23, 2015

While our “Best Apple Watch Browsers” list is undoubtedly forthcoming, I’m not sure we actually need one. Based on its name alone, Cufflink is obviously the superior choice. If you can think of a better handle for a smartwatch-based web browser, I’ll eat my hat. Plus, the app doesn’t look half bad, either:

As for how Cufflink works, it’s all pretty simple. Per TechCrunch:

Cufflink uses Siri as the interfacing entity, as you’d expect. So you speak what you want to search, and then the app serves up results with all formatting removed — which means no ads either, just text and media. [Developer Alaric] Cole says it’s using the same Readability tech that Safari’s Reader view uses.

It should be noted that Cufflink is also built around privacy. The iPhone version uses Touch ID to validate your sessions, and it’ll even save your history if you want it to, but for your eyes only.

Frankly, I’ve never been sold on the idea of web surfing sans keyboard (and I’m still not), so I wasn’t planning on putting a browser on my Apple Watch. But I’m a sucker for clever wordplay, and this bit’s just too genius to pass up. I’m sure the app is good enough, but the pun is great. And that’s totally worth $2.99.
