Have Peace of Mind on the Go with Companion

August 21, 2017

We all want to be safe when we’re traveling, whether we’re on foot or on wheels. With the technology we carry in our pockets and on our wrist, there’s little reason not to have a bit more peace of mind by connecting with our network of friends and family. That’s the idea behind Companion, which can now help you feel safe right from your Apple Watch.

Use People You Know to Ensure Peace of Mind on the Go

Companion allows you to network with your contacts to help you have more peace of mind. You enter your destination and choose contacts to be your Companions. They aren’t even required to have the app installed. Instead, your version of Companion sends those contacts a live map of your progress.

As you go from one place to another, your Companions can keep tabs on you. If you start running, don’t make it to your destination on time, or one of several other things happen, the app checks in on you to make sure you’re okay. If you don’t respond in 15 seconds, your Companions get notified.

A New Apple Watch Companion

The Apple Watch version of Companion is available now. It offers single-tap trips to home or work, along with a “One-Tap Wander” feature for those times you just feel like exploring. You can also repeat the last trip you took with Companion on your iPhone, just by tapping the correct option.

Peace of mind on the go

While you’re traveling, the app on your Apple Watch tracks your progress. If you feel nervous or want your Companions to call the police, all you have to do is discreetly tap that option on your Apple Watch. Everyone can benefit from more peace of mind, and this app brings that to you.

Getting Your Companion for Mobile Personal Safety

Companion is available for free on the App Store. The app works with Apple Watch, requires iOS 9 or later, and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Obviously, communications features like notifying your Companions of your trip progress and worries will require data access, either from Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
