This PRIDE Rainbow Apple Watch Band Beautifully Resembles Apple's

August 10, 2016

Apple created a sensation with its limited edition nylon rainbow Apple Watch band for San Francisco Pride. When I say limited edition, I mean limited: it was a gift for Apple employees who signed up for the Pride event. It was never available for purchase.

This created demand for the colorful striped nylon band, so Clockwork Synergy stepped up with its own version. They sent me some to review, and I was not disappointed. The quality, as with other Clockwork Synergy bands I’ve reviewed, is excellent. The band is flexible, comfortable, and attractive. In fact, I got a got a compliment on it the first time I wore it out of the house. The adapters, which fit perfectly, are available in metal colors to match each of the Apple Watches. The buckles can be ordered in silver or black. They sent me both buckle colors, with adapters to match my stainless steel Apple Watch.

They are not identical. Apple’s band has red plastic adapters, while Clockwork Synergy’s are metal, in the color of your choice. I prefer metal adapters over plastic, as they slide on and off the watch more smoothly than plastic. Apple’s buckle appears to be a brushed aluminum, while Clockwork Synergy’s are either shiny stainless steel or PVD black. There is gradient of color in Apple’s rainbow, while the lines are solid in Clockwork Synergy’s. Apple has that unique fabric-like nylon with no visible stitching, while Clockwork Synergy’s is a typical NATO nylon band, with purple stitching.

You’re not going to be able to get an Apple rainbow band unless Apple decides to start selling it, (and there has been no indication that this might happen) or you want to pay exorbitant prices on eBay and the like. Clockwork Synergy’s PRIDE rainbow Apple Watch band is an excellent alternative. They are already so popular that the first run sold out just a few days after release. You can pre-order yours now; it’s expected to be back in stock by the end of August. The price is $24.99 for either the 38mm or 42mm size, but use our code 15watchaware for 15% off, bringing the price to just $21.24.
