Pebble 2 is Pebble's Sporty Smartwatch with A Built-in Heart Rate Sensor
Five years after introducing the first Pebble smartwatch, Pebble have officially unveiled its successor, dubbed the Pebble 2.
With the Pebble 2, the company is bringing more fitness features into its watch including an optical heart rate monitor along with the ability to intelligently track sleep and step counts due to its built-in accelerometer.
The body, built out of polycarbonate, features the same 1.26-inch 144 x 168 resolution e-paper display, but has added some extra protection with the addition of Gorilla Glass 3.
It’s also available in five sporty colors including: aqua, black, flame, lime, and white.
Water resistance has been reduced from 50 meters down to 30 meters, but you’ll still get the same week’s worth of battery life, something that’s still significantly longer than anything Apple or Google offers.
Pebble has also upgraded the internals of the Pebble 2 to the same internals to the Pebble Time with a faster processor. However, unlike the Pebble Time 2, the Pebble 2 does not feature GPS nor Wi-Fi support.
So how can you get your hands on one of these? Kickstarter, of course. Pebble is sticking to its early roots by promoting its latest offerings with a goal of hitting 1 million dollars.
