Clicker is the Ultimate Counter for Your Apple Watch

May 19, 2016

Clicker, from the developer of Twitterrific, is a perfect example of a great one-trick pony app. It has no bells or whistles, no fancy features, it does just one thing. And it does that one thing properly. It counts taps. That’s all. It’s not even an iPhone app, really. You have to have it on your iPhone in order for it to be on your watch, of course. But when you open it on your iPhone, all you see is instructions for how to use it on your Apple Watch.

Clicker has a complication for easy access. The complication shows your current count. Tap it to start counting. The app opens quickly and it’s ready to go. Tap anywhere on your watch screen, you don’t have to aim for the “+” sign at all. You’ll feel the haptic feedback to let you know your tally has been counted. The Iconfactory claims that Clicker will track over 2 billion taps. I’m sorry to say I did not test that claim, but it had no trouble handling the couple hundred taps I gave it.

Did you accidentally tap one too many times? Force press to bring up a menu that allows you to delete one tap or reset the counter.

If you like to count your reps at the gym, or laps around the track, or the number of times your co-worker said “like” in that presentation, or whatever: Clicker is the app for you. It’s everything you need in a tally counting app, and nothing you don’t. Clicker is free on the App Store.
