Exercise Your Brain with Peak Brain Training

May 14, 2016

Peak Brain Training is an app to help you keep your mind agile. On the iPhone, the app is a much more complex and complete training program, with many games (some of which can be unlocked with an in-app purchase), daily workouts, detailed performance tracking, and more.

On the Apple Watch, the app is quite simple. It’s meant for those moments where you  have a quick minute of downtime, nothing more. There are just three games to play.

Peak Brain Training

The first game is called Rush Back. You are asked to memorize a certain shape. Then another shape pops up, and the app asks, “Does this symbol match the one before?” You respond by tapping Yes or No. When your time, about a minute, is up, you are given your score, along with your personal high score.

The second game is called Combiblox. First you are asked to memorize the target shape on a grid. Next, it shows you two different sets of fragments on the same grid, and asks you, “Do the fragments combine to match the initial shape?” You respond Yes or No. This exercise is repeated three times, and then you are given your score along with your personal best.

The third game is called Dot Rush. You are shown a bunch of dots, and asked to memorize them. You need only to try and memorize the number of dots, not the placement. Next, you are shown a second screen with either more or fewer dots, and asked to select Less or More. This exercise is repeated for about a minute and then you are shown your score and personal best.

That’s all there is to it. If you want a more comprehensive brain training program, you’ll want to use this app on your iPhone. But if you just want a few quick and simple games you can play in a minute to exercise your brain on your Apple Watch, Peak Brain Training is one to try. It’s free on the App Store.
