OULUOQI Offers a Worthwhile Bargain Leather Loop Knock-Off

Placed next to Apple’s Leather Loop, this band from OULUOQI is not an exact match. But on the wrist, most people won’t realize that you’ve spent one-fifth the price of Apple’s band. In fact, when I went to the Apple Store to compare bands, the salesperson complimented my OULUOQI band; I don’t know if he knew it wasn’t Apple’s. At any rate, I think it’s a nice-looking band too.

You should be aware, I don’t think the band is actual leather, though it claims to be so on its Amazon listing. I can’t tell for sure, but it seems more like faux leather to me. Still, the material is soft, smooth, and supple, and the band is extremely comfortable. The magnets are strong and I experienced no shifting throughout the day. The lugs are not as perfect a fit as an Apple band; there is very slight overhang on the edges, as you can see in the above photo. The band does feel securely attached to the watch.

As you can see with the bands side-by-side, the OULUOQI band is slightly lighter and brighter than Apple’s. Mine also appears smaller, because I have the 38mm size. Apple only offers their Leather Loop in the 42mm option.

I can’t buy Apple’s Leather Loop, since it only comes in the 42mm size. But even if I could, I can’t imagine spending $149 for it. This OULUOQI band will be part of my regular rotation from now on.
