Lookout Apple Watch App Taps Your Wrist If You Leave Your iPhone Behind

March 8, 2016

If you own an Apple Watch, you know that the Watch has a cool little feature that lest you ping your iPhone in case you don’t know exactly where it is. But how awesome would it be if your wrist simply tapped you when you’re out of range of your iPhone? Well, there’s an app for that.

A new app called Lookout solves that problem.

The app can be configured to tap your wrist when you’re out of Bluetooth range and can do the same with your iPad or even your iPod touch. If somehow you decide to ignore the the alert and leave your device behind, the app will show you the last reported GPS location right on a map. Other features include a distance visualization bar that tries to approximate how far you are from your iPhone.

Distance-Visualization

I hate to say this, but this is exactly the sort of thing you want Apple to build into the Watch. Features like this are super handy and could save people tons of time. It’ll be interesting to see if Apple adopts something similar in watchOS 3 or if Lookout will essentially become the goto app for making sure you don’t leave your device behind.

Lookout is completely free and you can download it from the App Store here.
