Square Cash Launches Apple Watch App
Many of us are starting to carry cash less and less. In fact, I personally almost never carry cash on me which sometimes makes doing things like paying friends and family back a little tough.
In those instances, Square Cash on my smartphone has proven to be a service that’s fast, convenience and secure. And today, they’re bringing that to the Apple Watch.
The company says that they saw the smaller display on the Watch as an opportunity to something that would streamline and make sending cash even easier.
When you open the app, you’ll see a list of contacts on the screen, usually ones you’ve most recently used Cash with. Tapping on a contact shows 6 options for sending money: $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, and $100. Once you tap on any one of those options, Square Cash asks you to confirm and once you do the app plays an animation showing money raining down indicating that the transfer was successful.
The process looks pretty simple and I’ve found it to be pretty fast. It’ll be interesting to see if people adopt this feature for sending money. I could see it being useful, but I could also see people simply forgetting that it’s there.
Anyways, you can check out the app here and give it a whirl.
