Here Is The Google News Apple Watch App
Google has updated its Google News & Weather app with support for Apple Watch. The app is similar to a number of other news apps in that it aggregates and pushes news from major publications including CNN, NYT, NPR and others.
According to Google, it offers new summaries from nearly 65,000 publications, the same ones you’d find on Google News on the web. You can also customize he app to show you certain topics such as “Sports” or “Technology.”
The Watch app offers users the ability to swipe through various headlines including an accompanying photo for each one. The bad news is that you can’t read the story itself and what’s even worse is that it doesn’t support Apple’s Handoff so you can’t continue reading the story on your iPhone. What you can do is save the story to Safari’s Reading List by Force Touching the display.
The app is obviously new, so we expect to see updates that give you better content, but this doesn’t seem like an app that offers much at the moment. If you’re looking for a great news app on your Watch, we recommend checking out our Best News apps section.
