Puzzledrome is a Palindromic Apple Watch Puzzle

A palindrome is a word, phrase, sentence, number or any sequence of characters that reads the same forwards and backwards. For example, the name “Otto” is a palindrome. Phrases like, “A man, a plan, a canal, Panama” and “A nut for a jar of tuna” are also palindromes. Palindromes lend themselves to all kinds of wordplay, such as constrained writing, and puzzles, like Puzzledrome.

Puzzledrome is a simple game than can be played on both the iPhone or the Apple Watch. It’s a tile-swapping puzzle game, but it’s no Candy Crush clone. You’re given a game board full of colorful symbol tiles, and you must swap tiles until you’ve arranged every row and column into a palindrome.

It sounds easy enough. But while I did solve the puzzle, I earned a negative score on my first attempt.

Once I understood that I needed to think and plan ahead, not just mindlessly swap tiles, I was able to get on the positive side of the scoreboard.
