Keep track of your personal budget with Daily Budget for Apple Watch

February 13, 2016

Keeping track of your purchases when you’re aiming to stick to a strict budget is tough. Fortunately, the Apple Watch can make this a little more achievable thanks to an app called Daily Budget, from developer Daniel Hour.

This watchOS application allows Apple Watch owners to set and manage a budget from their wrist, without having to grab for their iPhone each time a purchase is made (no matter how big or small). You can configure a budget using the Digital Crown upon first use, and after this, users can add in purchases from Daily Budget’s Watch app interface. It’s also possible to choose a category for a purchase with a tap and to check on historic transactions, too.

In addition to all this you can access a dedicated Glance and use Time Travel to forecast your budget.

From inside the watchOS application users can get summaries for both today and for the current month. Daily Budget will also let users know if it’s safe to spend, and how much they can spend, too. The application uses a mini-keypad on your Apple Watch’s screen in order to allow users to input amounts (à la PCalc), and while this is an awkward experience, it does allow watchOS users to add the exact amounts for their various purchases.

The bottom line, then, is that Daily Budget for Apple Watch is a great piece of software that watchOS users should consider taking for a spin. You might be saving for a vacation, wedding, or for your next Apple Watch purchase. Regardless of your motive, Daily Budget makes it easier than ever to stick to a budget. Better yet, it’s available on the App Store free of charge.
