Apple Watch Owners Remain Satisfied

October 27, 2015

Wristly has published a new report on Apple Watch satisfaction roughly three months after conducting its first survey. The survey, which had about 800 respondents back in July, has nearly doubled to roughly 1500 respondents participating. The results? 96 percent of respondents are satisfied with the Apple Watch, just down 1 percent from the first survey.

This very high satisfaction rating is unusual for most products, particularly first generation versions. The high satisfaction rating appears to be confirmed when we look at how quickly the Watch is becoming essential for the large majority of their owners, as measured by the amount of time they wear their Watches.

Wristly respondents also say that they wear their Watch 94 percent of the time. 79 percent of those respondents say that they wear it from the moment there wake up to the moment they go to sleep. Interestingly, 11 percent of respondents say they wear it to sleep, suggesting that sleep tracking is important to a small segment of wearers.

Other interesting tidbits include that Women seem to be more satisfied with the Watch then Men with 73 percent of Women claiming to be “Very Satisfied” versus 66 percent of Men saying the same. Also, those who are 55+ rank amongst the most satisfied and those who are 35-44 seem to be the least satisfied.

Ben Bajarin from TechPinions has also conducted his own research and has found that the Apple Watch ranks among the top wearable gifts to buy this season, just edging out Fitbit:

From my own primary research of iPhone owners, when asked if they were interested in buying a wearable (i.e. Fitbit, Apple Watch, Jawbone, etc.) this holiday season, 54% said no and 48% said yes. When asked which wearable they are most interested in, 39% said the Apple Watch, 37% said a Fitbit product, 8% said Jawbone, and 5% said Garmin. The key takeaway is the Apple Watch and Fitbit are the most dominant brands when it comes to interest in purchasing by iPhone owners worldwide.
